It’s McHappy Day! 🍟❤️

Today, across the country, McDonald’s restaurants in Canada are giving back, with a portion of proceeds supporting families through Ronald McDonald House Charities.

I’ve had the joy of working the drive-thru window on McHappy Day in the past (delivering the goods with a “Happy McHappy Day” greeting!), and it was such a blast being part of the energy, the generosity, and the smiles.

Swipe for a couple throwbacks!

It’s one thing to serve up fries and Big Macs. It’s another to see how those simple moments help support families going through incredibly difficult times.

If you’re near a McDonald’s today, consider swinging through and being part of something meaningful. Every coffee, every combo, every Happy Meal makes a difference!

Huge shoutout to all the teams working today across the McDonald’s system for making this day special!

Unfortunately, I’m not working the window today because…. I’m actually on route to Indianapolis, and am so excited to be speaking to the General Managers of McDonald’s GIO on May 14!

I can’t wait to connect with the incredible people behind the brand in that region and, despite everything they’ve accomplished so far, help them discover what more they are truly capable of!

This is your reminder: Thriving means living to the fullest, and having fun doing it.

For a long time, I thought high performance had to look a certain way.

Structured. Focused. Intense. Which is why I often thought I didn’t belong in that ‘realm’.

My rugby coach in university used to give me ‘the look’ – you know… the look of disapproval – when he’d catch me dancing and singing in the backfield waiting to receive a kickoff… (Little did he know I was singing “Ain’t nothing going to break’a my stride!... Nobody gonna slow me down!.. Oh no!...”😉)

But I’ve discovered that, although there’s definitely a time and place for discipline, it doesn’t have to be at the expense of joy.

Somewhere along the way, many of us (I would say society in general) bought into this idea that if we’re not grinding, we’re not growing… If we’re not taking it seriously, we don’t want it badly enough…. That fun is a reward you earn after success, instead of something that can fuel it.

But here’s the thing:
The people who truly thrive in all areas of their life aren’t the ones who never fall. They’re the ones who fall, laugh, and get back up with sand in their hair! 😅

Because thriving isn’t about perfection. It’s about aliveness!

It’s dancing even when you don’t know the steps.
It’s making space for fun, even when your calendar is full.

It’s saying, “Yes, this matters”... Not because it’s productive in the moment, but because it fills you up and fuels you for productivity in the long run!

High performance should never come at the cost of joy. So… today, go play. Get messy. Fall. Laugh.
Live the width of your life, not just the length of it! 👊

👉 What’s one thing you’re doing this week just for the fun of it?

One box down… 11 more to go! ✍️📦

This is what signing hundreds of books looks like!

It’s one thing when people buy a book for themselves…

But it hits a bit differently when clients buy them to share with their audiences - because they believe the message inside is exactly what people need to hear right now!

That’s what’s happening with Redefining ‘Realistic’.

These aren’t just bulk orders; they are bold endorsements. And I don’t take that lightly!

A huge thank you to the clients, leaders, and change-makers who are helping others navigate challenges and challenge the limits they’ve accepted for so long…. by putting this book in their hands!

Okay… now back to signing! (With a full heart, of course, and… maybe a bit of a hand cramp!😆)

“Maybe it’s not your schedule. Maybe it’s your story.”

We say we don’t have time. That we’re too busy.

That it’s not the right moment, the right season, the right anything. But what if that’s not the whole truth?

What if the real reason you’re feeling stuck isn’t your calendar, but the story you’ve come to believe about what’s possible for you?!

Stories like…

“I’m not ready.” “I need to be further along.”

“I don’t have what it takes.” “I have to get everything perfect before I start.”

Sound familiar?... These aren’t just excuses, they’re protective scripts!... Ones we’ve internalized to avoid risk, failure, judgment… or even success.

Because here’s the uncomfortable truth: Sometimes staying stuck is easier than stepping into something unfamiliar, even if what’s waiting on the other side is exactly what we want.

And the longer we hold onto those stories, the more they start to feel like facts! But… they’re not!

They’re just stories, and stories can be rewritten.

So if you’re feeling like something’s holding you back right now, ask yourself:
Is it really your schedule? Or is it the belief that you’re not ready… yet?

Because the moment you name the story? You take back the pen.

And the best part? You get to decide how this chapter ends.

What if your story, no matter how different it looks, is part of something bigger?...

When I won gold at the Vancouver Olympics, I learned something I’ll never forget:

The medals weren’t just awards; they were art!
And they didn’t just represent success; they symbolized connection!

For the first (and so far only) time ever, each medal created for those Games had a different design on the front. Every single medal, completely unique!

But when all 615 Olympic medals (gold, silver, and bronze) were brought together, they all overlapped to form one large First Nations design!

They were designed this way because no two journeys are the same. And yet, we are all connected. Every medalist’s story - every rise, every setback, every breakthrough - is unique, but forever connected and part of something greater.

My story is unique. Nobody else has the unique combination of my background and upbringing, my lessons learned, my education, my first-hand experience in high performance…. And, yet, my medal - my story - fits in that big picture!

And It’s what I remind my coaching clients and audiences all the time:

👉 You don’t need to take the same path as anyone else to be successful!
👉 You don’t need to enjoy the same achievements as anyone else to FEEL successful!
👉 Your story doesn’t need to be the same as anyone else’s to be significant.
👉 Your happiness doesn’t have to look the same an anyone else’s to be real!
👉 Your uniqueness is what makes the whole so much better!

Own your story! Celebrate your differences! And trust that where you are right now not only belongs in the big picture, but makes the big picture so much better!

The big picture of your whole life story, but also the big picture of, well…. everything!

What’s one chapter of your story that shaped who you are today?

MYTH: The colder the ice bath, the better the recovery.

You’ve heard it: plunge into near-freezing water, stay in for 10+ minutes, and that’s how you recover properly… right?

Well… not exactly.

There’s a lot of conflicting info out there.

Some say 50°–60°F (10°–15°C) is ideal for beginners. Others swear by 39°–50°F (4°–10°C) for pros. Some research says 2–3 minutes is plenty. And then there’s the debate over heat therapy, contrast therapy, and what order to do them in.

It’s confusing. And that’s the point.

Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. And more extreme does not mean more effective – especially for women.

If you’ve ever felt like you weren’t “doing it right” because you tapped out early?...

That was me – an Olympic champion – before I switched to warm epsom salt baths. No more cold. Still won gold. Twice! 🤷‍♀️

And if that IS you?!... You’re not failing. You’re listening. And that’s smart.

Let’s stop glorifying extremes and start asking better questions. That’s how we grow — and how we win. 👊

What’s stopping you?

… from thriving?
… from slowing down?
… from feeling truly fulfilled, not just busy or productive?

It’s easy to point to the external things:
Time. Money. Other people’s expectations. The job. The schedule. The season you’re in.

But more often than not, the real blockers are internal- and much sneakier.

That voice that says, “I’m not ready.” The pressure to be perfect before you even begin. The discomfort of stepping into the unknown.

I get it. I’ve been there. We all have.

But here’s the truth:
The things we deeply crave — peace, purpose, fulfillment —
They don’t come from pushing harder.

They come from pausing long enough to notice what’s actually holding us back.

And once you see it clearly?
You can choose differently.
You can take your power back.

Not by doing more, but by letting go of the patterns, beliefs, and pressure that no longer serve you.

So… what’s stopping you?

And is it really worth giving your energy to?

“Realistic” is often just another word for “safe.”

But what if playing it safe is the very thing holding you back?

In Redefining ‘Realistic’, I challenge the idea that success means staying in the box, following the rules, or settling for what’s predictable.

Because the truth is, your potential isn’t determined by what others think is realistic.

It’s defined by how willing you are to challenge your own limits.

This book is for:

✔️ The high performer who secretly feels stuck

✔️ The leader chasing success but craving fulfillment

✔️ The go-getter who knows there’s more… but isn’t sure how to reach it

It’s time to shift your perspective. To seize your potential. To own your story.

Because success without fulfillment isn’t really success.

Grab your copy of Redefining ‘Realistic’ and start creating the version of success that’s aligned with who you truly are.

Guess what! 💥 It’s not failure you’re afraid of!...

Excuses are everywhere! But the truth is… we’re capable of so much more than we give ourselves credit for.

So what actually stops us?

It’s rarely the challenge itself - that thing that we can point to and blame it on!...

It’s the assumptions we make without even thinking....
The self-limiting beliefs we hold onto (for no apparent reason)....
The fear of failing and not achieving what we set out to do/achieve....

Here’s the kicker → It’s not the failure itself we’re actually scared of!...
It’s the rejection, isolation, or judgement we assume will come as a result of it.

But... what if those assumptions are wrong?
What if the real risk isn’t failing… but never trying at all, and having to live with "what if" forever?!...

So, stop letting fear win.
And start questioning the stories you’ve been telling yourself.

If this hit home, drop a 🔥 in the comments & tag someone who needs this reminder today.

🎥 Watch the full reel — and then ask yourself: What’s holding you back? What's REALLY stopping you? 🛑
