I have some exciting news to share—I’m being inducted into the PEI Sports Hall of Fame later this year! 💫 What makes this even more surreal is that, back in high school, I spent a summer working at the Eptek Arts and Cultural Centre, where the Hall of Fame was displayed in big glass cases at the entrance. The path to success isn’t always smooth, comfortable, or predictable—but that doesn’t mean you stop. ~ Discomfort doesn’t mean it’s wrong. ~ A late start doesn’t mean you’re behind. ~ Changing direction doesn’t mean you’re lost or failing. ~ Taking a break doesn’t mean you’re lazy. You can face discomfort and challenges and still move forward. You can start late and still finish strong. You can pivot, or even start over and still make it. And you can take breaks and disconnect, and still achieve what is important to you (in fact, you most likely need to to be successful)! Success isn’t about perfect conditions or doing what everyone else is doing! It’s about knowing what YOU want, finding the path that works for YOU, having the mindset to overcome your self-sabotage, and going for it! PS. This is me at the very top of Mount Vincent- the highest mountain in Antarctica! 🏔️ 🔸Yes, it was uncomfortable. 🔸No, I had never climbed any mountain before. 🔸 Yes, we had to change our plan along the way because of weather conditions. 🔸 And yes, we only made it to the top because we took breaks along the way to manage our energy! And that is just ONE example!!! 👊 👉 What is the mountain or podium YOU are trying to get to the top of? 👉 And which of those 4 reframes - mindset shifts - do you need to adopt to turn your goal into a reality? #YouCanAndStill #ChampionMindset #WhatsStoppingYou #MindsetMatters

Thankful for the opportunity to speak in Calgary last week at a luncheon put on by PBA Group of Companies. This purpose of the luncheon was two-fold: 1- To celebrate the successes of the company (most recently, being awarded Calgary’s first and only Michelin Key for their Dorian Hotel where the event took place and where I was fortunate to stay), 2- but also to appreciate those who helped them achieve that success - their stakeholders! This was a gift of recognition and appreciation! And I connected with this so much concept! Because, although many people may only see the accomplishments I’ve achieved, they are not aware of the people who helped me along the way. The real team! Which is why the people we surround ourselves with is so important! The strength of your circle! Your corner! Whatever you want to call it! So, it was absolutely wonderful to share time with these incredible humans! And, to The Dorian Hotel... Your attention to detail was apparent everywhere, from my welcome plate and hand-written notes in my room to the choice of wallpaper, art, and amenities throughout the entire facility! So, thank you to Patricia Phillips and her incredible team for organizing such a thoughtful and impactful event! Who are YOUR people? YOUR stakeholders? I get to empower individuals, leaders, teams, and organizations by helping them redefine the possibilities and navigate challenges to discover what they are truly capable of! 👊 I get to combine my educational training as an occupational therapist 🤓 with my knowledge and first-hand lived experience of high performance (SUSTAINABLE high performance) 🥇 to help them take their lives and/or businesses to the next level! And how cool is that! To have the goals of others as MY goals!! Love it! 🫶 And… as much as I enjoy sharing my messages from the stage, my favourite part is getting to connect with people afterwards - sign books for people, let them wear my medals for photos, and answer any questions they may have! So fun!
